Running storage alongside MoveMan.
MoveMan knows how many containers a customer has in storage. Stortrace also records where each container sits, who last moved it and what the customer says is inside.
What MoveMan covers
MoveMan has served UK removals firms since 1995 and is listed in the British Association of Removers portfolio. Its modules cover surveys, quotes, jobs and a crew app, and its storage invoicing tracks containers across facilities.
MoveMan does not record what is inside a container, scan barcodes or keep warehouse bin locations. When a customer asks for a few boxes back, someone has to work out which container they are in and where it is.
Stortrace scans each container into a bin and runs collections, moves and returns from the same orders. It has no surveys or quotes, so a firm that depends on them can keep MoveMan for the move and run storage in Stortrace.
What transfers
- Storage customers, their contacts and any minimum stay they agreed to.
- Your container list, keeping the numbers already on the containers.
- Warehouse and facility locations, keeping the bay labels your crew already uses.
- Your storage prices, whether you charge per container, per item, by floor area or by volume.
- What each storage customer owes on the day you switch.
What changes
- Each container is scanned when it moves, and its location comes from the latest scan.
- Each container carries a description of what the customer packed in it.
- Collections and returns are booked as orders in Stortrace and invoiced alongside the storage.
- Surveys and quotes stay in MoveMan.
How the migration works

You send an export and we map it against Stortrace. If you would be better off staying where you are, we tell you at this point and before you have paid anything.

Import
We load your customers, items, locations and prices, and check the totals against your old system until they agree.

Train
Your drivers learn to scan items, and your office staff train on your own data.

Run both
Your old system keeps running until Stortrace has produced a month of invoices that match it.
