Running valet storage alongside Storman.
Storman bills your units and takes the payments. It does not record what is stored, collected or delivered, which is the part Stortrace handles.
What Storman covers
Storman has run self-storage facilities in New Zealand since 1992 and in Australia since 1997, with online move-ins, reservations, automated billing and reporting. It is the principal partner of the Self Storage Association of Australasia and is owned by Global Payments, the group behind Ezidebit and eWAY.
Storman keeps no list of the items in storage and does not schedule collections or deliveries, so a valet service run beside the units has to be tracked by hand.
Stortrace does not rent units and does not take payments yet. You can keep both on Storman and run the valet side in Stortrace, which issues the valet invoices for your existing provider to collect.
What transfers
- Valet customers, their contacts and any minimum stay they agreed to.
- Your item list, from a spreadsheet or a CSV.
- Warehouse locations, keeping the labels your team already uses.
- Your valet prices, whether you charge per item, per box, by floor area or by volume.
- What each valet customer owes on the day you switch.
What changes
- Collections and returns are booked as orders, and each visit becomes a job for a driver.
- Your warehouse scans each item as it moves, and its location comes from the latest scan.
- Goods can be measured when they arrive, so an invoice can charge for the floor space or volume they take up.
- Your units and payments stay on Storman.

You send an export and we map it against Stortrace. If you would be better off staying where you are, we tell you at this point and before you have paid anything.

Import
We load your customers, items, locations and prices, and check the totals against your old system until they agree.

Train
Your drivers learn to scan items, and your office staff train on your own data.

Run both
Your old system keeps running until Stortrace has produced a month of invoices that match it.
