Storman has run self-storage in Australia and New Zealand since the nineties. Move-ins, reservations, automated billing, reporting. It is the association's principal partner and it is owned by Global Payments, the same group as Ezidebit and eWAY.
So leaving it is two moves, not one. The software moves and the payment rail may move with it. Plan that part first and plan it around a billing cycle, not around a date in a calendar.
What Storman does not hold is the item. No item-level inventory, no custody chain, no collection or delivery scheduling. Run valet alongside your units and that half is tracked by hand today.
Renting units is not something we do yet. The honest version of this page is that most Storman operators keep their units where they are and put the valet side on Stortrace.
What transfers
- Customer records, contacts and contract terms.
- Your item list, from a spreadsheet or a CSV export.
- Site and unit labels, which become warehouse locations with the names your team already uses.
- Billing history, open invoices and payment schedules.
- Your pricing model, whether you charge per item, per box or by volume.
What changes
- Your payment rail is a separate decision, and we will run alongside the old one until a billing cycle clears.
- Items get scanned rather than updated, so location becomes something the system derives.
- Every collection, move and redelivery leaves an event you cannot edit after the fact.
- Footprint is measured on intake, so the invoice follows the warehouse rather than the booking.
Migration is the part you are dreading. It is the part we do.

Evaluate
You send an export and we map it against Stortrace. If your operation is better served where it is, we will say so at this stage rather than after you have paid us.

Import
We load customers, items, locations and billing history, then reconcile the totals against your existing system until the two agree.

Train
Your drivers learn one new habit, which is scanning an item instead of ticking it off. Office staff work against your real data, not a demo tenant.

Run both
You keep your old system running until a billing cycle closes cleanly in Stortrace. Nothing about the switch should require you to trust us on a Friday.
